Participating via a video-conferencing in a high-level meeting held in this regard in New Delhi, Chief Secretary, Muhammad Iqbal Khanday told that the state government was closely watching the ecological developments in the area following the landslide, and all related agencies were working in unison in this regard.
Cabinet Secretary, Ajit Seth, chaired the meeting that was attended by Union Home Secretary, Anil Goswami, representatives from National Disaster Management Authority, Central Water Commission, and other agencies.
Briefing the meeting about the efforts of the district administration, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, G H Sheikh said several precautionary measures have been taken including closing of Chadder trek and restriction of people's movement between Chilling and Padum.
