"The Samajwadi Party people, who had been busy in holding others responsible for their every failure, have now strategically started blaming the Centre for every incident," BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak alleged.
He further said, "The SP leaders must not forget that law and order is a state subject and that Uttar Pradesh is being run by Akhilesh Yadav".
"If conversions are taking place at the behest of the Centre, then who is responsible to check them. Why don't they expose the instances of the centre," he said.
The spokesperson said that it was unfortunate that "issue less SP could not digest the progress of the country".
He said that after the "crushing" defeat in Lok Sabha elections, opposition parties were making unsuccessful attempt to save their base.
