Kerala Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, who ran into trouble for making certain remarks in the state assembly few days back on Union Minister of State of Home Mullappally Ramachandran, today clarified that he had not made any critical comments about the Central Minister.
Tiruvanchoor's clarification came in the wake of the Union Minister seeking an explanation through social network Facebook.
Talking to reporters here today, Tiruvanchoor said he had also written a letter explaining the circumstances of his statement and its back ground.
"I had not stated in the assembly that Ramachandran gave a list of names to be included as accused in the Revolutionary Marxist Party (RMP) leader T P Chandrasekhern murder case". Also, I had not made any critical comment on Ramachandran, he said.
Government's only intention was that there should not be any outside interference in the investigation of cases, he said.
"CPI-M in the state was trying to misinterpret my remarks in the assembly for political gains", he said.
His statement in the House about Ramachandaran's remarks on T P Chandrasekhran case had triggered a controversy with CPI(M) seeking explanation from both state and Central Minister.
Quoting the assembly proceedings record, he said "what I was referring to was the statement of Ramachandaran that only small fishes have landed in police net in Chandrasekheran murder case", Tiruvanchoor said.
