State Planning Board finalises draft plan for 2016-2017

The State Planning Board headed by Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today finalised a draft plan projecting Puducherry government's requirement of Rs 2,465 crores under plan and Rs 4000 crores under non-plan for 2016-17.
Bedi who chaired the meeting reviewed the performance of the departments and among those who spoke during the deliberations included the Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, his cabinet colleagues, Chief Secretary Manoj Parida, senior officialsand legislators R Siva (DMK), A.
Anbalagan (AIADMK), former Education Minister A Gandhiraj and leaders of the left parties.
A release from the Planning and Research Department said that the Puducherry government would approachthe Union Home Ministry and also the NITI Aayog with the draft plan and would seek increased central assistance and also release of additional central assistance for importantinfrastructures in the Union Territory.
