BJP has alleged that party leaders were being ignored in the Centre's LED bulbs distribution programmes in the state.
BJP city unit president Surendra Singh, said that their party leaders, MPs and MLAs were not being invited to the LED bulb distribution programme in various districts.
The Uttar Pradesh Power Minister and other Samajwadi Party leaders were part of the distribution programme in the city recently. But even Kanpur MP Murali Manohar Joshi was not invited for the event, Singh claimed.
He said the party would urge the Centre to stop the scheme, if Uttar Pradesh Government continued to ignore its leaders.
The party has also written a letter to Piyush Goel, Union Minister of State with Independent Charge for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy, to draw his attention toward the matter.
The LED distribution scheme was launched by the Union Power Ministry's Energy Efficiency Limited.
