The police today disallowed a seminar by hardline Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani, prompting strong reaction from the separatist leader who termed it as "the worst kind of state terrorism".
"Banning the seminar, titled 'present situations and our responsibilities', is the worst kind of state terrorism. (CM) Mehbooba Mufti and her colleagues seem to have taken a Ganga bath because they are acting like pawns for the implementation of RSS agenda in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.
He warned the policy of "banning peaceful political activities" would have "serious consequences and a sharp reaction" would come to the fore if "this hooliganism of police continues".
He said the seminar was an "academic-type" function which was going to be held within closed doors.
"The said seminar would have neither influenced law and order situation nor the traffic system, but the police follow different policies and they cordoned off the entire area and restricted the movement of the people," he said.
