stay ordered on the trial of the case relating to the brutal murder of T P Chandrasekharan, who had left the CPI(M) to form the Revolutionary Marxist Party, last year.
The stay was lifted by Justice Harun-Al Rashid on a petition by Pradeepan, an accused in the case, seeking to seize the telephone records of the investigating officer in the case.
Earlier, the high court had stayed the trial for two weeks pending before the Kozhikode Additional Sessions Court.
According to the petitioner, the police statement that the investigating officer has taken his statement from his house was incorrect. This can be proved by examining the telephone call records of the concerned officer, he submitted.
Considering the reply, court disposed the case granting time till Dec 30 to conclude the trial of the case. Earlier, the trial was to be completed by November 30.
Chandarsekharan was hacked to death on May 4, 2012 in Onchiyam in Kozhikode district. Sevel local CPI(M) leaders are among the accused in the case.
