Steady trend prevails in chennai foodgrain market

The prices of urad dal moved up and sugar declined while all other commodities ruled steady at wholesale foodgrains market here during week ended today.
Urad dal opened at Rs 8,200 on Monday, up by Rs 400 per quintal from its previous rate and closed the week at the same price.
Sugar lost ground on Tuesday by Rs 50 per quintal to Rs 3,250 from its last week's closing of Rs 3,300 and remained at the same level till today.
Thoordal (Rs 7,300), moong dal (Rs 9,800), gram dal (Rs 3,900), wheat (Rs 2,400) maida (Rs 2,400) and sooji (90 kg-Rs 2,500) remained unchanged at their last week's prices.
