Steel prices fall on subdued demand

Saria weakened at the local steel market today owing to slackened demand from constructions units and prices fell by Rs 500 per tonne.
Traders said besides slackened demand from construction units, adequate stocks position in the market mainly kept pressure on saria prices.
In the saria section, Kamdhenu 8-mm,10-mm and 12-mm were down by Rs 500 each to Rs 49,600, Rs 49,100, Rs 46,700 per tonne respectively. Saria 16-25-mm also eased by the same margin to Rs 47,400 per tonne.
Following are today's quotations (in Rs per tonne):
Saria Kamdhenu: 8-mm 49,600, 10-mm 49,100, 12-mm 46,700, 16-25 mm 47,400.
Amba shakti (TMT): 8-mm 45,700, 10-mm 43,400, 12-mm 42,400, 16-25 mm 42,500.
MS Angle: (50x5) (50x6) 42,000, (40x5) (40x6) 42,800.
Angle Capital (ISI) (40X5) (40x6) 44,100, (35X5)(65X6) 44,600. Girder (125X65) 41,000.
