Stelae raises funds from Mohandas Pai, Earlsfield and others

Stelae Technologies, maker of artificial intelligence-driven document analysis software, today said it has raised funding from former Infosys executive Mohandas Pai and other angel investors.
The company, which has offices in Chennai and Bangalore, has raised a pre-series A funding, led by Earlsfield Capital, UK, Stelae said in a statement.
Former Infosys Director Mohandas Pai, Saha Fund and Cross Border Angels also participated in this round, it added.
Details of the amount raised was not disclosed.
The investment will be used to scale up the delivery operations of the company and increase the breadth of technology partners worldwide, it said.

Stelae's patent pending software - Khemeia - detects content elements in documents using artificial intelligence- based pattern recognition and content analyses algorithms.

Khemeia has processed over 10 million pages of content for customers like Rolls Royce Aerospace (UK), DCNS (France), Wolters Kluwer (US), Deutsche Bank (UK) and for a large defence customer in India, the statement said.
The company has been founded by Aruna Schwarz (CEO), Maria Shiao (VP Business Development), Pierre Fraisse (CTO) and Sandeep Raizada (VP Operations).
"The Enterprise B2B big data sector remains a high growth space, and Khemeia is a product platform built to scale globally and across sectors, as it transforms the ability of enterprises to utilise data that was previously inaccessible or difficult to convert," Earlsfield Capital founding Partner Sumeet Pillai said.
