Steps had been initiated to fill vacancies in posts of teachers in government-aided schools in the Union Territory, Chief Minister N.Rangasamy today said.
Representations had been received from various government aided schools seeking filling of vacant posts of teachers and the government had already initiated steps in this regard, he said at a private school function here.
He said the government was keen to ensure that the Union Territory continued to maintain its high rank in education. Schemes to provide quality education and incentives to check dropouts, particularly girls, were in force.
Education Minister T.Thiagarajan asked the students to make use of the government schemes for academic excellence.
