Steve Coogan thought he would die after taking cocaine

Stand-up comedian Steve Coogan has opened up about his drug addiction and he says he felt like he was going to die after taking cocaine.
In his new book, "Easily Distracted" Coogan, 49, revealed that his stint with drugs began in 1992, reported Mirror.
"I could feel pins and needles in my left arm, and my heart was thundering. I thought I was having a heart attack.
"Patrick put me in a car and drove through red lights to get me to hospital. I cried all the way. I couldn't stop thinking, 'I'm going to die. This is it. My headstone will say: Stephen Coogan, born in Middleton in 1965, died in Edinburgh in 1992, aged 26 years.' What a waste!," he wrote recalling the horrific experience of a panic attack.

The "Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa" star said he had series of panic attacks even after he was declared fine in the medical examination.
Coogan says he tried rehab to get over his drug habit, but his addiction had begun to take its toll on his life because he constantly needed it.
"I don't take drugs or drink any more, but I am in no denial about my past: I will always be a recovering addict," he said.
