Filmmaker Steven Spielberg is considering to helm a screenplay written 50-years ago by blacklisted writer Dalton Trumbo.
The iconic director may helm the screenplay titled 'Montezuma', penned 50 years ago, with Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem in lead role, reported Ace Showbiz.
The script revolves around the conflict between Aztec's emperor Montezuma and Spanish explorer Hernan Cortez as the latter led an expedition to Mexico to add to Spain's riches.
The planned big-screen adaptation by Dreamworks could be renamed "Cortez" since it is expected to be told from the conquistador's point of view.
Trumbo had won Oscar award twice, once for penning 'The Brave One' in 1956 and once for the 1953 release 'Roman Holiday'.
Trumbo was blacklisted from working at Hollywood after he was alleged for contempt of US Congress and has to spend 11 months in prison for not testifying about un-American activities in US.
