A 'stop work' agitation at the India Security Press and Currency Note Press which began from Friday evening after altercations between a CISF Commander and workers continued on the third day today.
The altercation which occurred during a routine check-up, continued for the third day today, affecting printing of passports at the ISP and currency notes at the CNP, according to ISP Mazdoor Sangh working president Jagdish Godse.
Workers' unions have demanded the transfer of Central Industrial Security Force Commander Rohit Ashwin Kumar, he told reporters today.
CISF's Special Inspector General, Mumbai, Anjani Kumar Singh had discussed the issue with ISP General Manager T R Gauda and union leaders, but the issue has not yet been resolved, he said.
"If CISF Commander Kumar is not transferred, all seven security press units in the country under the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd (SPMCIL) will resort to a 'stop-work' agitation in support of ISP workers from tomorrow," he said.
Godse also clarified that unions have no grievances against the SPMCIL management.
