Stop 'harrassing' drive against us: Auto drivers to Delhi govt

Angry over launch of special drive against autorickshaw drivers for "harrasing" passengers, an auto union has given a 15-day ultimatum to Delhi government to immediately stop its drive failing which they would go on strike.
Rajendra Soni, general secretary of Delhi Autorickshaw Sangh, alleged that autorickshaw drivers are being "harassed" by impouding their vehicles for violating even "minor" rules.
"Officials are impouding our autorickshaws for violations of even minor rules. If auto drivers do not wear uniforms, they are impouding the vehicle which is not fair. In the name of special driver, we are being harrased," Soni said.
Earlier this month, transport department recently launched a special drive against those autorickshaw drivers who "harass" passengers across the national capital.

Soni said that we have given a 15-day time to the government to immediately discontinue its drive.
"If the government does not pay heed to our demand, we will go on strike after 15 days," he said.
