Digital India Week is a central government initiative to increase and better utilise information technology (IT) in the country from e-governance to literacy, STPI said in a statement.
"STPI Noida and its sub-centre at Lucknow, Indore, Jaipur, Bhilai, Mohali, Srinagar and Dehradun have organised events at their respective locations for the representatives from industry and STPI employees today," it added.
STPI is a society set up by Ministry of Communications and IT with the objective to encourage, promote and boost software exports from India.
The industry expresses enthusiasm about the initiatives under Digital India and said it is looking at the business opportunities that will help in job creation in ICT sector, it said.

The event included screening of video films and promos of Digital India programme and addresses by eminent persons from industry, academic institutions and the government.
The topics included focus on Digital India programmes, opportunities for entrepreneurship and employment in Digital India, cyber security space and cyber hygiene, the statement said.
STPI Noida Director Rajneesh Agrawal informed the industry and other participants about the efforts being taken by the government for enabling the change in the country from maximum governance with minimum government, it added.
