"We are clearing the vehicles stranded at different places on highway from this morning," SSP Traffic, National Highway, Sanjay Kotwal said.
He also said that special preference is being given to passenger vehicles and no fresh traffic is being allowed on the road from both the sides.
The 300-km long highway connecting the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country was closed yesterday after heavy rainfall triggered massive landslides at several places on the road.
All Srinagar-bound vehicles are not being allowed from Nagrota check point and stranded vehicles particularly trucks are being asked to park their vehicles on Sidhra By-pass to avoid traffic problem in Jammu city.
Batote-Doda-Kishtwar inter-district road have remained closed for vehicular traffic in view of landslides at different places, Kotwal said, adding that efforts are being made to restore the road for vehicular traffic.
