Street vendor association leader shot dead

A 65-year-old leader of street vendor association was today shot dead allegedly by two unidentified bike-borne assailants in Englishiya Line area under Sigra police station here, police said.
Pramod Nigam, Secretary of Ferry Patari Thela Vyavasayi Samiti, was shot dead by the miscreants while he was returning home, said Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anurag Arya.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, Arya said.
The body has been sent for postmortem, police said, adding that the matter is being investigated.
