"Whatever happened in Uri, it is known to all that the terrorists came from neighbouring country. Our army camp was attacked there. The question that arises is, introspection has also to be done on how it happened and who is responsible and what action government will take," he told reporters here.
The government needs to strengthen internal security as the terror attack on the army camp at Uri was preceded by attacks at Udhampur, Poonch and Pathankot among others, the Hyderabad MP said.
Voicing support to the government's move to stay away from the SAARC Summit scheduled to take place in Pakistan, Owaisi, however, stressed for a consistent policy towards the neighbouring country.
"Alright, you are not going for SAARC meeting because the government in Pakistan doesn't control terrorist organisations there like Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad. The trial of 26/11 has been going for years now. We gave evidence on Pathankot but no action was taken (by Pakistan). So the government has taken this policy. We have no objection to that. But keep a consistent policy," he said.
"What will be our policy towards our neighbouring country. Foreign policy doesn't run like we will go if there is a wedding at somebody's house. There is need for consistent approach," Owaisi said.
