About 5,000 agitating ministerial employees marched in a procession from the Parade Ground to the state secretariat where their leaders announced they will not end their stir until a government order is issued revising their pay scale.

"A repressive measure like 'no work no pay' has only strengthened our resolve to continue our fight for our genuine demands. We will not go back to work until we are handed a government order revising our pay scale," Uttarakhand Federation of Ministerial Services Association office bearer Deep Chand Budlakoti said while addressing the rally.

Reacting to deduction of the salaries of striking employees under 'no work no pay' regulation, Budlakoti said, "We are absolutely undeterred by the move. On the contrary it has doubled our determination to go ahead with our stir."

He also accused the government of offering "excuses" like financial crunch to prevaricate over the issue.

Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna has already appealed to the striking employees several times to end their stir expressing his readiness to talk to them.

Assuring them that the government would not let their interest suffer at any cost, he has asked them to call off their stir considering the financial condition of the state.

About 30,000 ministerial employees in Uttarakhand are on strike since December 27 affecting work in government offices.
