Student drowns in pool at Isha Yoga Centre

A 20-year old engineering student drowned in a pool at the Isha Yoga Centre near here today allegedly after he suffered an epileptic attack.
Police said the incident occurred when a group of 40 students from a private engineering college in Vellore, on an excursion, were taking a dip in the famous 'Suryakundam Theertham' (pool) at the centre.
Ramesh was found drowning in the pool and fellow students pulled him out. He was later taken to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead, police said.
A case had been registered and the body brought to the government hospital here for post-mortem, they added.
When contacted, Isha sources said Ramesh suffered an epileptic attack and drowned.
They said normally those with heart ailments and history of epilepsy were not allowed to enter the pool.
