He was found carrying about 150 grams of marijuna when police personnel on traffic patrol stopped the motorcycle which he and two others were riding on Mysuru Highway in the early hours.
Police said the boy, a second year BBA student and staying at a private hostel, was a regular user of the drug.
He was being questioned about the source of supply of the narcotic and cases had been registered against him under two sections of NDPS Act, they said.
