A 19-year-old student was today arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl at his house in Meerpet area here, police said.
On May 11, the accused, who is the 8-year-old victim's neighbour, had asked her to bring cold water from her house.
When she went to his house, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, they said.
As the girl did not return, her aunt went to the house of the accused, where the minor narrated the incident, a police official said.
Following a complaint, acase under relevant IPC sections and others besides under provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act was registered.
The boy was today arrested from here, police added.
