Police said one of the friends (a minor) was picked up for questioning after the missing 15-year old Enamul Purkait's father lodged an FIR.
The father Zaheer Purkait alleged his son Enamel was abducted by two friends yesterday evening and taken to a nearby river bank.
Search was on for the missing boy.
