Police said the 15-year-old boy, by mistake, wore shoes of different colours yesterday and noticing this, the PT teacher allegedly thrashed him with a cane.
As the student complained to his parents, they along with some relatives came to the private matriculation school at Chirupuluvapatti in nearby Tirupur and gheraoed the administrator Ramesh and Principal Shanthi, demanding an explanation and also action against the Teacher.
They dispersed after the management assured them that action would be taken, police said.
