In a petition to the collector T N Hariharan, Dhanya and Nivedha, both teenage sisters and residents of Uppilipalayam, urged him to either to stop or bring down noise pollution created by aluminium manufacturers in the area.
Claiming that the increasing number of industries in residential area like Sreenivas Nagar was creating noise and air pollution, the students said they were not able to concentrate in their studies for final examinations scheduled in March and April next.
