With no response from Government on their demand for reservation in jobs, the strike by students of Forest College and Research Institute here entered the 13th day today.
Students, who have been staging novel protests, staged their protest today by performing 'last rites for the dead.'
In a symbolic protest, four boys stretched out on the floor as if dead and some girl students lit lamps and threw soil on the 'bodies', claiming that their education and aspiration were buried by the Government.
Parents of some students blamed the Government for not coming forward to break the deadlock, even as the students were sitting on dharna in the campus of the college, closed indefinitely since January 27.
Students are demanding that government give priority to forest graduates in the appointment of foresters and rangers, with 100 per cent job reservation, which was reduced to 25 per cent last year.
