"The students are discriminated for their political ideologies. 28 eligible students were not given admission in PG courses in Lucknow university due to which their future will be affected. The students, sent to jail on fake charges, should be released, and seminars, meetings, discussions should not be banned in campuses," the SP MLC Rajpal Kashyap said.

They also demanded holding of student union polls in universities and said that resentment is brewing in youths due to policies of the BJP government against them.
