Students from Kashmir Valley leave on a BSF-sponsored tour

Two groups of students, including 20 girls from remote and far-off areas of Kashmir Valley today left on a BSF-sponsored educational-cum-motivational tour to different parts of the country, including a meet with President Pranab Mukherjee.
Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand flagged off the two contingents, one of 20 girls and the other of 22 boys, from BSF Frontier Headquarters at Humahama near Srinagar airport.
"Like previous years, this year too BSF is organising Bharat Darshan Tour for boys and girls of the Valley as a goodwill gesture," Deputy Inspector General of BSF Rajinder Pandey said.
"It is an educational-cum-motivational tour organised with the aim to acquaint the students with varied ethos of the country," he said.

"The students would go to Bengaluru, Mysore, Delhi, Agra, Gwalior and Jaipur and visit historical sites," he said, adding the trip would provide them an opportunity to understand the culture of people living in other states.
A BSF spokesman said the students would also be provided an opportunity to meet the President and other important personalities during the trip.
Chand appreciated the BSF for organising the tour, besides performing security related duties and said, the force had also been initiating people-friendly welfare measures, like organising Bharat Darshan tours for students living in far-flung areas of the state over the years.

"Meeting and talking with high-profile personalities of the country will help them gain confidence and instill in them the spirit of achieving higher goals in life," the Deputy Chief Minister said.
