Students jumps from second floor of school, injured

A class XI student of a reputed English medium school was today injured after allegedly jumping of the second floor of the educational institution.
Shaswata Banerjee (17) a resident of Sector-III, Salt Lake and a student of class XI of Birla High School on Moira Street within the limits of Shakespeare Sarani Police Station, allegedly jumped off the second floor of the school premises and injured both his legs, a senior officer of Kolkata Police said.
The incident happened at around 2.30 PM, he said.
"The boy was spotted by one of the security staff and was rushed to Belle Vue Clinic where he is undergoing treatment. We are looking what actually happened or whether there is any foul play in it," the officer said adding, the boy would be questioned as soon as he was released from the hospital.
