:Students of a government run French Girls High school today picketed a key road for some time, demanding that government provide basic amenities and renovate the premises from where they were shifted to a new building.
They also wanted posting of teachers to fill vacancies to handle classes.
Raising slogans against the alleged slow pace of renovation of the 19th century building where the school had been functioning, they said there was no initiative to repair the premises.
Officials of the Directorate of Education held talks with the students and promised them that action would be taken to meet their demands, following which they dispersed and resumed attending classes.
