According to the complaint lodged, sub-inspector Susheel Kumar had gone to Etah city yesterday to enquire about Anil, accused in an electricity theft case. When the SI reached the spot for probe, the accused snatched the FIR from his hands and tore it, police said.
Anil's mother and wife also indulged in an argument with the SI and manhandled him, they said.
Another FIR has been registered under sections 332 and 353 of the IPC against Anil, his mother and his wife for manhandling the SI and hindering police investigation, they added.
Earlier, seven persons including a Zila Panchayat member were booked here yesterday for allegedly threatening a police officer after he refused to mediate in a case.
