The Environment Committee (EC), which met here under the chairmanship of MLA M Y Tarigami, decided to constitute the sub-committee to be headed by MLA Zulfikar Ali, an official spokesman said today.
The EC also recommended to the government that the committee constituted to study the impact of cement pollution on the environment should also include that of brick kilns under its ambit, he said.
Commissioner Secretary Industries and Commerce Shant Manu, who is also the Chairman of the Environment Pollution Assessment Committee on the impact of cement plants on the environment, informed the meeting that head of environment studies departments of both Universities of Jammu and Kashmir have been inducted as experts.
