Kolkata recorded 17.6 mm of rainfall in 24 hours from yesterday morning, even as other parts of the state remained almost dry.
The maximum recorded temperature in the state was at Sriniketan where the mercury touched 34.8 degrees Celsius.
The weatherman has forecast generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers in Gangetic West Bengal till July 10, while it has forecast heavy rain in parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
