Sugar closes lower on ample stocks

Sugar prices fell by Rs 40 per quintal at wholesale market in the national capital today on adequate stocks position following persistent supplies by mills.
However, scattered demand from bulk consumers limited the losses.
Marketmen attributed fall in sugar prices to buffer stocks position following increased supplies by mills.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices eased by Rs 40 each to Rs 2,900-3,130 and Rs 2,890-3,120 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also shed Rs 10 each to Rs 2,800-2,980 and Rs 2,790-2,965 per quintal.
In millgate section, sugar Modinagar fell Rs 30 at Rs 2,820, while Simbholi lost Rs 25 at Rs 2,930 per quintal.
Prices of Kinnoni, Dorala, Budhana, Thanabhavan, Dhanora and Sakoti were down by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,980, Rs 2,890, Rs 2,900, Rs 2,890, Rs 2,850, Rs 2,840 per quintal.
