Sugar closes quiet on small buying

Sugar prices drifted by Rs 40 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today dragged down by persistent supplies by mills amid limited buying by stockists and bulk consumers.
On the other hand, sugar prices of government and co-operative mills rose up to Rs 20 per quintal on the back of buying at lower levels.
Marketmen said persistent supplies by mills mainly pulled down private mills prices,
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices declined by Rs 40 each to end at Rs 2,580-2,690 and Rs 2,550-2,680 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also moved down by Rs 30 each to end at Rs 2,410-2,540 and Rs 2,400-2,530 per quintal.
In millgate section, Sugar Kinnoni, Asmoli, Budhana, Thanabhavan, Simbholi and Dhanora prices fell by Rs 30 each to Rs 2,540, Rs 2,520, Rs 2,450, Rs 2,440, Rs 2,420 and Rs 2,440
