Sugar ends weak on lackluster trade, poor demand

Medium sugar prices declined further at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to lack of demand from stockists and retailers amid sustained selling by millers.
While, small sugar variety displayed a mixed pattern of trade owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling.
Medium sugar (M-30) moved down by Rs 12 to 2,460/2,660 per quintal from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 2,460/2,672.
Small sugar (S-30) was quoted at Rs 2,322/2,521 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,342/2,520.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,460/2,660 (Rs 2,460/2,672).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,322/2,521 (Rs 2,342/2,520).
