Sugar extends gains on rising demand

Sugar prices rose further by Rs 10 at the wholesale market in the national capital today following persistent demand from stockists and bulk consumers to meet seasonal demand.
Marketmen said the persistent rise in sugar prices was due to strong demand from bulk consumers and retailers amid beginning of new month and ongoing festive season.
In the millgate section, sugar Ramala, Anupshaher, Morna and Sakoti iprices were up by Rs 10 each to close at Rs 2,520, Rs 2,510, Rs 2,530 and Rs 2,550 per quintal.
Prices of Dhanora and Dorala also moved up by Rs 10 each at Rs 2,570 and Rs 2,580 per quintal.
