Sugar falls on ample stocks, weak demand

Sugar prices fell up to Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on huge stocks position following persistent supplies by mills.
Marketmen said mounting stocks position in the market following persistent supplies from mills amidst slowdown in offtake from stockists and bulk consumers mainly led to the fall in sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 traded lower by Rs 30 to finish at Rs 2,670-2,830 and Rs 2,660-2,820 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also eased to Rs 2,525-2,680 and Rs 2,515-2,670 instead of Rs 2,540-2,690 and Rs 2,530-2,680 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Bulandshaher and Sakoti prices declined by Rs 30 each to Rs 2,570 and Rs 2,540 per quintal.
Sugar Ramala, Baghpat, Nazibabad and Morna prices moved down by Rs 20 each at Rs 2,570, Rs 2,580, Rs 2,560 and Rs 2,580, while Kinnoni and Budhana eased by Rs 10 each to Rs 2,680 and Rs 2,590 per quintal.
