Sugar falls on mounting stocks, weak demand

Sugar prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on mounting stocks following increased supplies from millers.
Marketmen said in addition to mounting stocks on rising supples, weak demand from stockists and bulk consumers, mainly pulled down sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices slipped by Rs 100 each to trade at Rs 3,300-3,430 and Rs 3,280-3,410 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices were also down by Rs 75 each to Rs 3,130-3,245 and Rs 3,110-3,225 per quintal.
In millgate section, sugar Kinnoni dropped by Rs 75 to Rs 3,245 per quintal and Dhanora slipped by Rs 65 to Rs 3,165 per quintal.
Sugar Dhampur was down by Rs 60 to Rs 3,130, Modinagar and Simbholi by Rs 55 each to Rs 3,175 and Rs 3,225 per quintal.

Prices of Khatauli and Bulandshar declined Rs 45 each to Rs 3,225 and Rs 3,145 per quintal, while Chandpur and Asmoli lost Rs 40 each to Rs 3,140 and Rs 3,225 per quintal.
