Prices of select sugar millgate tumbled up to Rs 55 per quintal at the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today following persistent supplies from mills amid reduced offtake by stockists and bulk consumers.
Marketmen said steady inflow of supplies from mills coupled with slow down in buying by stockists and confectioners, mainly affected few mill prices.
Meanwhile, sugar spot and mill delivery prices continued to be traded at previous closing levels on scattered demand.
In the millgate section, sugar Dorala dropped the most by Rs 55 to settle at Rs 2,765, followed by Dhamur Rs 40 at Rs 2,720 per quintal.
Dhanora and Anupshar also eased Rs 10 each to Rs 2,780 and Rs 2,720 per quintal.
