In restricted activity, sugar millgate prices fell by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today largely on adequate stocks following increased supplies by mills amid subdued demand.
Marketmen said persistent supplies by millers against low demand from stockists and bulk consumers, such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers, mainly led to the fall in sugar millgate prices.
In millgate section, sugar Bulandshaher, Baghpat, Chandpur and Morna prices eased by Rs 10 each to Rs 2,445, Rs 2,430, Rs 2,440 and Rs 2,430 per quintal.
Prices of Mawana, Simbholi, Dhanora and Dhampur also lean down by Rs 5 each to Rs 2,470, Rs 2,550, Rs 2,470 and Rs 2,450 per quintal.
