Sugar millgate prices up on strong demand, thin supply

Select sugar millgate prices resumed higher by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following renewed buying by stockists and bulk consumers as well as higher advices by millers.
Marketmen said higher advices by millers, sparked by sustained demand from stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drinks and ice-cream makers ahead of summer season and starting of new month, mainly held prices in green zone.
In the millgate section, sugar Ramala, Nazibabad, Chandpur and Anupshaher gained by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,150, Rs 3,140, Rs 3,130 and Rs 3,140 per quintal, respectively.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 33.00-39.00 per kg.
Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 3,420-3,550, S-30 Rs 3,410-3,540.
Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,120-3,220, S-30 Rs 3,110-3,210.
Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs 3,160, Kinnoni Rs 3,220, Asmoli Rs 3,190, Dorala Rs 3,160, Budhana Rs 3,160, Thanabhavan Rs 3,150, Dhanora Rs 3,140, Simbholi Rs 3,210, Khatuli Rs 3,220, Dhampur Rs 3,140, Ramala Rs 3,150, Anupshaher Rs 3,140, Baghpat Rs 3,150, Morna Rs 3,150, Sakoti Rs 3,150, Chandpur Rs 3,130, Nazibabad Rs 3,140 and Malakpur Rs 3,150.
