Sugar millgate prices up on tight supply, robust demand

Sugar millgate prices firmed up by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following tight supplies from mills sparked by strong demand.
Marketmen said besides fall in supplies from mills, increased buying by stockists and bulk consumers, driven by beginning of new month, mainly pushed up sweetener prices.
In the millgate section, sugar Simbholi, Khatuli, Sakoti and Morna prices shot up by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,870, Rs 3840, Rs 3,740 and Rs 3,725 while Anupshaher, Baghpat and Nanota gained Rs 45 each to Rs 3,700, Rs 3,730 and Rs 3,710 per quintal.

Sugar retail markets - Rs 42.00-46.00 per kg.
Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 4,100-4,200, S-30 Rs 4,090-4,190.
Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 3,700-3,900, S-30 Rs 3,690-3,890.
Sugar millgate (including duty): Mawana Rs N.Q., Kinnoni Rs 3,900, Asmoli Rs 3,830, Dorala Rs 3,770, Budhana Rs 3,760, Thanabhavan Rs 3,755, Dhanora Rs 3,780, Simbholi Rs 3,870, Khatuli Rs 3,840, Dhampur Rs 3,760, Ramala Rs 3,715, Anupshaher Rs 3,700, Baghpat Rs 3,730, Morna Rs 3,725, Sakoti Rs 3,740, Chandpur Rs 3,730, Nazibabad Rs 3,720, Modinagar N.Q., Shamli 3,740 and Nanota 3,710.
