Sugar price declines on increased supply

Sugar prices slumped by Rs 60 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on ample stocks following persistant supplies from mills amid scattered buying by bulk consumers.
According to marketmen, the fall in sweetener prices was largely attributed to supply pressure from mills but seasonal demand from bulk consumers capped the losses.
Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 60 each to end at Rs 3,570-3,750 and Rs 3,560-3,740 per quintal.
Likewise, sugar spot M-30 and S-30 prices drifted by Rs 50 each to settle at Rs 3,900-4,100 and Rs 3,890-4,090 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Chandpur dropped the most by Rs 50 to Rs 3,570, followed by Asmoli by Rs 40 to Rs 3,710 per quintal.
Sugar Dhanora and Dhampur too lost Rs 35 each to Rs 3,595 and Rs 3,585, while Dorala, Khatuli and Sakoti slipped by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,650, Rs 3,750 and Rs 3,610 per quintal respectively.
