Sugar price improves on strong demand

Sugar registered a gain of Rs 20 per quintal in its prices at the wholesale market in the national capital today following strong demand amid restricted supplies.
Marketmen said strong demand driven by ongoing wedding season amid restricted supplies from mills mainly attributed the rise in sweetener prices.
Meanwhile, Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) stated a 6 per cent downfall in total output. However, Uttar Pradesh has shown an uptick in production by rising over 30 per cent as compared to last year.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices enquired higher by Rs 20 each to Rs 4,000-4,050 and Rs 3,990-4,040 per quintal, respectively.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also traded higher by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,700-3,770 and Rs 3,690-3,760 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Morna, Dhanora and Asmoli prices were up by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,730, Rs 3,710 and Rs 3,730
