Sugar price rises on summer season demand, tight supply

Sugar prices were higher by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today mostly backed up by robust summer season demand from bulk consumers amid restricted supplies from mills.
Marketmen said strong demand from retailers, stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers, mainly influenced sweetener prices.
Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices rose by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,440-3,520 and Rs 3,430-3,510 per quintal.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices also gained Rs 20 each to end at Rs 3,720-3,820 and Rs 3,710-3,810 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Dhanora, Budhana, Kinnoni, Dorala, Thanabhavan, Khatuli, Ramala, Baghpat, Anupshaher and Morna looked up by Rs 30 each to Rs 3,450, Rs 3,460, Rs 3,520, Rs 3,460, Rs 3,450, Rs 3,500, Rs 3,440, Rs 3,460, Rs 3,440 and Rs 3,450 per quintal respectively.
