Sugar prices decline on bumper stocks, muted demand

Sugar prices settled lower by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on slackened demand amid non stop supplies from mills.
Marketmen said bloated ready stocks on consistent supplies from mills amidst limited offtake by stockist and bulk consumers, mainly brought down the sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 30 each to end at Rs 3,930-4,040 and Rs 3,920-4,030 per quintal.
Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also declined by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,600-3,750 and Rs 3,590-3,740 per quintal.
In the mill gate section, sugar Anupshaher, Baghpat and Shamli fell by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,600, Rs 3,620 and Rs 3,680.
Prices of Budhana, Thanabhavan, Ramala, Morna, Sakoti and Nanota also eased by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,710, Rs 3,705, Rs 3,615, Rs 3,620, Rs 3,670 and Rs 3,610 per quintal respectively.
