Sugar prices decline on low buying, persistent supply

Sugar prices dropped by Rs 80 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following fall in demand from stockists and bulk consumers and persistent supplies from mills.
Traders said fall in demand at prevailing levels as prices have risen by up to Rs 500 per quintal in the past three weeks and pick up in supplies from mills mainly attributed to the fall in prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 declined by Rs 60 each to Rs 3,150-3,300 and Rs 3,140-3,290 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 also fell by Rs 50 each to Rs 2,900-3,150 and Rs 2,890-3,140 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Dhanora and Dhampur dropped by Rs 80 each at Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,990 per quintal, respectively.
Sugar Mawana, Asmoli, Kinnoni and Khatuli slipped by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,040, Rs 3,140, Rs 3,150, Rs 3,100, while Budhana, Thanabhavan, Dorala, Simbholi and Chandpur dipped by Rs 40 each at Rs 3,050, Rs 3,040, Rs 3,050, Rs 3,140 and Rs 3,020 per quintal.
