Sugar prices decline on lower demand

Both the varieties of sugar prices declined at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to subdued demand from stockist and retailers amidst ample supplies.
Small sugar (S-30) dropped by Rs 16 per quintal to Rs 3,064/3,141 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 3,080/3,141.
Medium sugar (M-30) also looked down by Rs 5 per quintal to Rs 3,186/3,341 as compared to Rs 3,191/3,341 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,064/3,141 (Rs 3,080/3,141).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,186/3,341 (Rs 3,191/3,341).
